About Lauri

Lauri Meyers is a children's book writer who tries to follow the picture book rules, though rhyming gnomes and laughing raindrops keep infiltrating her stories. She writes humorous picture books, picture books with funny rhymes, lyrical books with softer humor, and nonfiction that uses a good laugh as a teaching tool.
Young Lauri swatting away adjectives

After a career in corporate finance where she specialized in adding, subtracting, and saying "no," she is entrusting her two children to retrain her brain to be creative.  She has already completed classes in booger picking, glitter sprinkling, and worm squishing under their tutelage.

Lauri is a member of the SCBWI. Her stories and poetry have been published in Clubhouse Jr., Spaceports & Spidersilk, Stinkwaves, and Guardian Angel Kids magazines.  She was selected for the PB Chat Mentorship in 2021. She attended the Rutgers University Council on Children's Literature conference in 2017. When she received her first "1" rating from Rate Your Story, she did a fancy jig all around the house. She won an Honorable Mention in the Rate Your Story contest in 2015.
